Meet Jorgie
I am a Taiwanese American child of immigrants, born and raised in the Bay Area, California. I grew up in a community where conversations around mental health were stigmatized and seeking support was met with misunderstanding and shame. My journey into therapy was driven by a desire to help individuals feel seen and understood in the cultural nuances surrounding their mental health challenges.
As an Asian American therapist, I look at how culture, immigration, familial expectations/traditions, and systemic influences impact your experiences and stories. In our work together, I deeply value understanding you within the broader context of the systems you navigate — your family, cultural background, school/work settings, faith community, societal influences, etc.
Therapy with me means feeling safely held as you navigate your inner world. It's about having someone in your corner, holding hope for you during times when it might feel elusive. Together, we will explore the depths of your emotions and experiences, fostering a path towards self-discovery, healing, and lasting change.
After working with me, my clients often express:
I’m learning to give myself permission to choose differently.
I’m free to access different parts of me.
I can hear my own voice more clearly.
I have greater capacity to hold my emotions.
